On July 28, 2008, a young woman contacted the Mobile, Alabama Child Advocacy Center and reported that she had been sexually abused by her stepfather, Anthony Hopkins, who was a preacher. The girl also reported that her stepfather had killed her mother, Arletha Hopkins, and had stored her body in a freezer located in their home for nearly four years. Hopkins was arrested for this horrific crime at a church revival in Jackson, Alabama as he was giving a sermon on forgiveness. Anthony Hopkins was charged with Murder and Incest. He was sentenced to life plus 51 years in prison on May 20, 2010. Read more »

She was driven around in the trunk of her car for 26 hours and was close to death when a San Diego County Deputy Sheriff stopped the vehicle as a result of suspicious driving and discovered the victim in the trunk. Leon Jewell left his 9-month-old child in a car on a 94 degree day. Jewell had spent the morning driving to the liquor store and drinking. He returned to his house with 9-month-old Danny buckled in the child car seat.
