The Facts:
The defendant in this Robbery 2nd Degree case approached the victim from behind in the dark, as she was entering her apartment. He attacked her and punched her in the face, pushed her back and grabbed her purse and ran. The victim thought she was going to be killed.

Convicted of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Sent to prison for 1 year.
Released in May, 1996 after serving only 6 months.
March, 1998
Convicted of Receiving Stolen Property and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree.
Sent to prison for 5 years.
Released in January, 2001 after serving only 20 months.
November, 2001
Convicted of Robbery 1st Degree for punching an elderly woman in the face and stealing her purse.
Sent to prison for 20 years.
Paroled in March, 2008 after serving only 6 1/2 years.
July, 2008
Committed the present Robbery charge by punching the victim in the face and stealing her purse.
Sent to prison for 20 years.
Outcome of the case:
The defendant was tried by a Fayette County jury and was convicted of:
Robbery 2nd Degree,
Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree.
The jury recommended a sentence of 20 years in prison.
Fayette Circuit Judge James Ishmael sent the defendant to prison for 20 years to be served consecutive with any other back-up time.
