Jury Finds James “Chief Egg” Mullins Guilty Of The Whitney Avenue Murder Of Dominic Faulkner

Guilty!” of the Murder of Dominic Faulkner and “Guilty!” of Tampering with Physical Evidence by disposing of the murder weapon. That was the verdict of a Fayette County jury after midnight Thursday morning. Defendant James “Chief Egg” Mullins, 31, heard that verdict, and later, that same jury’s decision of that he should serve 35 years in prison for the Murder and Tampering convictions.

Mullins had been charged in the April 18, 2008 shooting death of Dominic Faulkner, 20, on Whitney Avenue in broad daylight.

The 3-day trial ended after midnight Thursday morning. Prosecutors Shawna Virgin Kincer and Erin Hayne said, “Although there are never any winners in homicide cases, we are pleased that the defendant was held responsible for what he did.”

Mullins is scheduled to be finally sentenced by Fayette Circuit Judge James Ishmael, on March 19, 2010.
