THE
PROSECUTOR'S VIEW |
Conviction rates for serious criminal cases prosecuted by the Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in 1998 are as follows:
We are extremely pleased with these conviction rates. They are what we strive for. But those results don't just happen. They reflect hours and hours of hard work by our prosecutors, and it proves that hard work does pay off. The investigative work done by the Lexington Police Department has also been outstanding. Our office is fortunate to be able to work with such a professional group of men and women. They are dedicated to the safety of our community and citizens. Their investigations are always well done and working with them on these cases has produced excellent results. I am equally proud of the job done by the men and women who prosecuted these cases. Although our prosecutors are a diverse group, all have a lot in common. They are all smart. They all have good hearts and all possess an incredible work ethic. Our staff is truly a reflection of our community. We are a diverse group. The men and women who prosecute these serious crimes in Lexington come in every size, shape, race and gender. The teamwork between prosecutors and the investigating officers has been the key to our 1998 success. It is essential that everyone work together in the crime fighting business. If we don't, only the criminals will benefit. |
